Contest Details
Contest Details. Six to Eight classes will be judged (2-4 Halter classes and 4-6 performance. The contest will be scored electronically; therefore, members should be familiar with the universal Scantron placing sheet. Patterns will be provided the morning of the contest. Once registration is complete, the participants will receive the instructions for the orientation and for the link to judge the contest. The classes are timed and can not be paused.

IF you want to give a set of reasons for practice, a live call will be setup with the horse judging committee to give you the opportunity to give a set of reasons of your choice.

Awards will be sent to county offices a week after the contest or may be picked up at District Roundup.

Eligibility
Participation. Contestants must be active 4-H members enrolled in a Texas 4-H and Youth Development county program in District IV. Contestants must also be academically eligible (according to UIL rules) to compete on the day of the contest. A contestant may compete as an individual or as a member on a team.
Age. Age divisions are determined by a participant’s grade as of September 1st of the current 4-H year. Age divisions for this contest are:
• Junior (3rd, 4th, & 5th grades)
• Intermediate (6th, 7th, & 8th grades)
• Senior (9th, 10th, 11th, & 12th grades)

Prizes
Awards. 1st through 5th place individual and team awards in each age category will be presented.? Additional awards may be presented depending upon donor support. The top 3 placed senior teams and/or individuals will qualify for state.
