Official/Reasons/Critique

In a close top pair of five-toes hens, I like hen #4 over hen #1. I acknowledge both hens would easily win a class. I like the advantages in bleaching that hen #4 displays on its knuckle.

Hen #1 has less pearly-white colored shanks in comparison, leading me to believe she hasn’t laid as many eggs in her lifetime. In my middle pair, hen #1 places over hen #2. Hen #1 has less pigment on the shank and knuckle. In my bottom pair of hens, I like hen #2 over hen #3.

Hen #2 displays more bleaching at the knuckle, with faint pigment on the lower shank. I’ll admit hen #3 has less pigment on the lower shanks; however, it has the greatest amount and most intensely colored pigment near the knuckle, thus placing fourth.
