I place the class of market goats 2143. In a top pair of wide-based heavy muscled goats, I lead off with the #2 wether as he appears to be fresher and firmer handling and is more descriptive in his muscle pattern. Specifically up top, behind his shoulders, he is wider and squarer racked, and from the side, not only is he leveler from hook to pins, but also wider and more pronounced in his stifle, ultimately offering a more attractive silhouette.
Not to take away from the #1, because he is the class rival in terms of basewidth, look, and sheer power. Additionally, he is a heavy structured option that's pulled apart in his center cavity, unfortunately, he comes up short in terms of freshness and balance as he’s softer appearing and not as put together in his front one third.
In the bottom pair, I find the #4 over the #3. The horned goat offers a more desired look from the side and up top. He’s bolder sprung in his rib cage and deeper when viewed from the side. Moreso, simply put, I just think there’s more product and good in the #4 so he’s 3rd. The black-headed #4 goat is londsided, wide-based, and tall necked, but he is also the frailest constructed and lightest muscled so he’s bottom in this lineup.
